Audition Techniques

Having auditioned for several dance schools, University degrees and dance scholarships myself, I appreciate how daunting the experience can be and how a well crafted solo piece can often make or break the outcome of an audition.

Knightshift Dance Company fully appreciates the importance those few minutes of performance can make and so are available to offer private lessons to work on audition techniques and help choreograph your routine.

Whether you are looking for someone to construct your solo from scratch or require help and guidance on your already existing routine, Stephen will be happy to work with you personally and offer practical support and advice on how to improve and maximise your full potential.

Audition classes will be tailor made to suit the specific requirements of each individual, and a full consultation will be given prior to the session in order to discuss your main aims and objectives.

Stephen can assist you with ideas on suitable music, choreography, overall technique, projection and performance skills.
Dance is a competitive industry and is becoming increasingly more popular, therefore it is vital that you walk into an audition confident, fully prepared, well rehearsed and with an original and inspiring solo that shows of your technical ability and create flair in equal measures.

Knightshift dance company are passionate about helping students to realise their dreams and offer total support to those wishing to study dance at a professional level.

Previous students that have attended these classes have gone on to study at many well established dance schools including: London Contemporary Dance School, The Urdang Academy, Bodywork Company Dance Studios, Guildford School Of Acting and Laine Theatre Arts.
